This is a site for connecting current students and teachers to classic Shakespeare plays.  If you think Shakespeare has nothing to do with your life today, you might reconsider.

Professor John H. Parker of Lipscomb University has a project to direct a video for high school students and teachers on the play, “Romeo and Juliet” that shows how the basic issues of that play connect with you: love, group or gang conflict, and parent-child conflict.

Have you ever been in love? Have you ever fallen in love at first sight? Have you ever been in love with someone who didn’t love you back? Have you ever been in love with someone of whom your parents didn’t like? Have you ever loved someone so much that you would be willing to do anything to be with them?

Welcome to Shakespeare Connected, the video series that examines Shakespeare’s plays from a modern perspective. By combining opinions from experts in various disciplines like religion, psychology, history and the arts, with video interpretations of Shakespeare’s plays and a little bit of humor, we hope to show you how Shakespeare connects to your lives today.
